Lou and Joel Allingham
In 2004, the Allingham’s embarked on a quest to add a furry, friendly dog to their family.
They began the search for the perfect addition with the hope of showing and breeding a purebred dog. After months of research they found the perfect breed.
They decided on a Portuguese Water Dog because of their intelligence, charming personalities and silky non-shedding coat. Who knew what an adventurous ride it would be…
They adopted their first Portuguese Water Dog, Roxy, 13 years ago. She is a wonderful old girl, still fun-loving and full of spirit. Roxy, has imparted her wonderful temperament to her puppies, long since retired, she is G-mom to all.
Calypso Portuguese Water Dogs was started with a bang, birthing of our first litter on July 4, 2007. They were the Independence Day Litter!

Calypso puppies are raised in a loving home. They have an enriched environment to grow up in, meeting chickens & horses and lots of loving stimulation to help them become confident pups.
